Charlie LaVoy

Charlie LaVoy is a passionate storyteller with 18+ years experience in the entertainment industry. His adventures span the worlds of animation, live action, motion design, and illustration.

Always eager to trail blaze into new mediums, Charlie brought a filmmaker’s sensibilities to the nascent field of Animated Graphic Novels, contributed from the ground floor in the creation of a fully remote animation studio, and spearheaded a permanent projection installation at the Historic New Orleans Collection.

Charlie is driven by the collaborative experience, leading from a place of mutual trust and inspiration to bring stories to life. On any project, his first goal is to establish an emotional throughline to serve as a compass, guiding the team through whatever rocky waters may be ahead. At the heart of it all is a piercing curiosity about the human condition, and the ways in which a group of people can explore it together.

He lives in Upper Michigan with his wife, two children, three cats, and their Alaskan Shepherd. In his spare time he can be found tending his bonsai collection, swimming in Lake Superior, hiking the woods of the UP, or working on his YA fantasy novel.
